Finalised Concept or Design Solutions​

  • Establish key performance and design criteria

  • Develop environmental control, façade and building services strategy with relevant consultants;

  • Indoor Environmental Quality – thermal comfort, daylight and air quality. Define an environmental control strategy, seasonal ventilation strategies and daylight optimisation;

  • Advise scheme and strategy for façade treatment, mechanical and electrical systems to achieve the specified NABERS rating. Develop up to 3 options for consideration for each.​

 

Scheme Design

  • Advise on facade solutions, daylight performance, solar control, insulation and ventilation strategies. 

  • Undertake preliminary thermal comfort model 

  • Examine for risk and/or opportunities that might have the greatest energy impact on the concept design.

  • Provide updated advice on BCA Section J Deemed to Satisfy (DTS) requirements for glazing and fabric performance. ​

 

Design Development

  • Advise the design team on ESD requirements.

  • Produce report documenting NABERS performance results as predicted by detailed energy model.

  • Specification review to ensure that documentation highlights areas critical

Certified Green Star Design

Pre-Design​

  • Act as the Green Star Accredited Professional for the rating.

  • Submit eligibility and registration information to the Green Building Council of Australia.

  • Establish key BPA (building performance analysis) criteria to achieve the desired Green Star credits.

  • Develop environmental control, façade and building services strategy with relevant consultants.

  • Indoor Environmental Quality – thermal comfort, daylight and air quality. Define an environmental control strategy, seasonal ventilation strategies and daylight optimisation.

  • Advise on implication of achieving energy modelling credits.

  • Workshop strategies for façade treatment, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems to achieve the specified building performance.

  • Concepts to be aimed at delivering maximum performance based on life cycle.

  • Complete initial outline Green Star scorecard of possible options.

  • Steer BPA on facade solutions, daylight performance, solar control and insulation and ventilation strategies.
